STRENGTHENING COMMUNITY CENTRIC GOVERNANCE THROUGH INTEGRATED WATER, SANITATION MANAGEMENT APPROACH IN SELECTED URBAN POOR COMMUNITIES IN THE STATE OF CHATTISGARH.
The programme aims to strengthen the local governance through increased awareness of the community, sensitizing the people representative and make the local administration accountable for the access to safe drinking water, better sanitation facilities, waste services and proper solid waste management, and practicing safe hygiene behaviours. In this regards CARMDAKSH is working in two towns Mungeli and Ratanpur in Chattisgarh state. This program is supported by National Foundation of India

Increasing awareness on health impact of water, sanitation and waste interventions
Formation of Mohalla samiti
Increasing access to safe water, better sanitation and waste services
Promoting low cost appropriate technologies/techniques and solutions for water, sanitation, and waste interventions; and
Demonstrating models on increasing access to water, sanitation and waste facilities.
